Air blast freezers are of the most common and older types due to temperature stability and versatility of the equipment. Freezing occurs by the contact of low-temperature air with the food to be frozen.

The freezing rate will depend on the amount and speed of the air blown, being directly proportional to these variables. The type of equipment to be used depends on the size of the product to be frozen, the expected production capacity and the desired final quality.

Capabilities: The blast freezers are for small use. It has the ability to freeze 400 kg-2.5 tons per day. As it is used for small capacity, it can refrigerate the containing products as quick as possible. Generally, in one batch, 100-600 kg food materials can be loaded.

Performance: The food material outlet temperature of Blast Freezer is -18℃ (-0.4℉). It takes the freezing time of one batch is 1.5 hours to 5 hours. In one batch, food materials can be loaded from 100 to 600 kg. It takes very much lower time to freeze foods than other freezers. The blast freezer has all the qualities which a freezer should have to meet the needs of the catering industry.

Technology: The Freon systems in the Blast Freezers create a low-temperature freezing surroundings. The machine also has high air flow fans which circulate the air and accelerate heat transferring. There is shown some used technologies:

  • The evaporator is made of Copper/Aluminum
  • The insulation is made of 120mm thick polyurethane panel with two sides of stainless steel plate covering.
  • The compressors used in Blast Freezers are from Bitzer or Copelands.
  • The Freon used in the Blast Freezers is of R404a/R22 for optional.

Quality: The primary uses of the Blast Freezers are in bakery, hotels, ice cream factories, supermarkets, etc. The Blast Freezers are resulted to be the best choice to freeze foods. And the cooling system is also better in it.

Efficiency: There can be provided or made various size of roll-in trolleys and trays by which the solution for the blast freezer are provided which can reach to the temperature range: -15℃ to -20℃, and there is also deep walk-in the freezer which has the minimum temperature: -60℃.

Applications

Seafood, meat like as chicken, beef and shrimp can be frozen in the blast freezers. It is also used to freeze bakery, pastry and ice cream. As it performs excellently to freeze the foods very quick, it is essential equipment for hotels, supermarkets, refectories, canteens and small food processing plants.
