BACKGROUND OF THE INNOVATION

 

 

At present, in the aquatic processing industry all over the world, there are usually three common ways to remove fish scales when processing fresh or frozen fish and other aquatic products.

 

 

fish scraperManual fish scaler. Place the fish flat on the workbench, and the worker uses the fish scraper to scrape from the tail of the fish toward the fish head. After cleaning the fish scale on one side, turn over the fish body, and do the same scraping again. This manual scraping method has the disadvantages of unclean descaling, slow speed, low work efficiency, high labor intensity of workers, and long processing time, resulting in the fish body being exposed in the turbid air for a long time, which is very easy to cause pollution and thus quality change, and directly bringing economic losses to the processing enterprises. This manual scraper is very suitable for using in home, kitchen, and fish shop.

 

 

Electric scaler. The worker holds the handle of the scaler with his hand and moves it in the reverse direction from the fish tail to the head. The head of the scaler which rotates at high speed touches the fish body and knocks off the fish scales. This electric scaler is small and portable, and it is effective for large and extra-large fish to scale. But for small fish, due to the small size, the scaling effect is not good; And the high-speed rotating scaler head is not suitable for workers to use for a long time. Using this tool for a long time will have a certain impact on the user's body and there is a possibility of injury to the operator's hand.

 

 

Rotary drum scaler, also called tumbler scaler. It can process dozens to hundreds of kilograms of fish at a time, and can process a batch in a few minutes' time. This drum scaler relies on the fish rubbing and colliding with each other in the rotating drum to achieve the descaling effect. However, this method produces certain damage to fish flesh and appearance. Especially for precious fish with tender flesh and thin skin, collision and friction will damage the integrity of the skin, resulting in the decline of the quality of the processed fish. Especially for high value-added fish products, this method cannot be used. Moreover, this type of drum scaler is not universal for all kinds of fish, it is only applicable to some fish with hard scales.

 

 

In consideration of the above three common ways of removing fish scales, our company has overcome the shortcomings in the existing technology, updated the concept and optimized the design, and thus developed this automatic fish scaling machine. The machine uses high-pressure water jet to remove fish scales, which is clean and effective. The descaling efficiency can reach more than 99%, and there is no damage to the fish body, realizing the automatic separation of fish scale and fish body. Together with the fish scale collector and the backwater filtration and purification system, the machine can automatically collect fish scales and recycle water, thus saving the proprietor a lot on the water bill.

 

 

HOW IT WORKS

 

 

Before starting the machine, fill the water tank with water, then start the water pump, adjust the pressure of the booster pump by adjusting the overflow regulator and inverter to make it reach the rated working pressure, and adjust the flow of each circulating water pump to make the water to be balanced and circulated. Thereafter, the conveyor belt can be started to run, and the fish will be placed on the conveyor belt at the inlet in an orderly manner, and the conveyor belt will slowly transport the fish to the working chamber. As the fish pass through the high-pressure nozzle, the nozzle sprays high-pressure water at a working angle onto the skin of the fish and flips the scales on it. As the fish scales flip open to increase the resistance of the water injection, the fish scales fall off under the action of high pressure. High-pressure water nozzles are installed on the upper and lower sides of the conveyor belt to ensure that water is sprayed onto the fish body in 360 degrees around the fish body, thus completely removing the scales from the entire fish body.

 

MECHANISM

 

 

The structure of the waterjet descaling machine includes the following major components.

  • The frame, which is responsible for supporting the whole machine.  

  • High-pressure water injection system, including working chamber, high-pressure water pump, water nozzles and water circuit system.

  • Conveyor mechanism, the conveyor mechanism includes conveyor belts and motors. The conveyor belts are partially set in the working chamber, the conveyor belts are driven by motors. Both ends of the conveyor belt are respectively provided with a feeding table and a discharging port.

  • Fish scale collector (optional).

  • Water circulation system (optional), including water reservoir tank, water collection tank, water return tank, filtration tank, water return pump and purification tank.
